The goal at Ben’s Plumbing is, and will always remain, to provide courteous, professional, personalized service to every home and business owner who puts their trust and confidence in Ben’s Plumbing.
A Brief History
Ben Foster created Ben’s Plumbing in 2005.
He has been working trades all his professional life. In 1974, upon returning from his four years of service for the United States Coast Guard, he studied and worked to become an Automotive Machinist’s Local 289 journeyman automotive mechanic. At this time, he was also working in his father’s frame and axle shop in South Seattle, and beginning a family with his new bride.
In 1978, coinciding the birth of his second child, he started Foster’s Wheel Service, working as a wheelwright. He single-handedly ran this business of servicing & restoring wire wheels, and repairing automotive alloy wheels, up until July of 1995. Because of his passion and allure for plumbing, and a total loss of passion for wheel repair, he decided to make a major life change.
Ben returned from a 4th-of-July family vacation and, rather than head to work in his wheel shop that Wednesday morning, he went to a nearby plumbing company to speak with the owner about potential opportunities. After a short conversation, he was hired on as an apprentice plumber. With this new career in mind he ran back to his wheel shop, changed the business’s voicemail recording, and closed down for good. An hour and a half after his initial inquiry, he was out doing service calls with the service manager.
Thus began Ben’s plumbing career.
Once Ben acquired enough hours, he obtained his Journeyman Plumber’s License in 2001. Four years later, he created and licensed his own company, “Ben’s Plumbing,” which he operated as a one-plumber business up until 2013.
The company’s customer base has made it necessary to grow a few branches in-house–to address their plumbing needs in a timely and professional manner.
Ours is not a large company by any means and, as long as Ben is at the helm, it will not be.
